On a late night walk, what I have read came back to me. I like the idea from the book The Little Book of Being. It is introduced in Mark’s blog.
I read about a mindfulness practice that fully scan over our body to see all things that construct us. I have not read or might have missed the concept of scanning the surrounding space. In Chapter 32, Diana Winston’s suggest one to explore all directions.
- Look up, you imagine the ceiling, the cloud, the sky. Crossing the atmosphere, you will see the earth as a big sphere surrounding by various satellites. Then, gradually, earth is just one big blue dot.
- Look to the left, right, front and back, you will see buildings, lives, people. You will see a constantly changing world, and you are a part of it.
- Look down, you see your feet. You feel the heat from asphalt radiate at nighttime. You see how the road is constructed. Then, go deep down, you see underground pipes for cables, sewage, electricity, underground water (aquifers).
As we start looking all directions, we see that what we know is limited. Therefore, we can keep exploring rather than burry us with trivia and unmeaningful arguments.
